Buddha had a father to Show the World - Story
A wonderful evening on the Adyar River. Anand Akhilan is a father in his 30’s with a son in his 4. This was the time when the virus is over and there is no fear now. The Masks are removed the Alcohol rubs are over. No more six feet to show love. And his son has gained his memory and started to remember all the incidents. One day he came to Anand and asked “What I was doing before a photo where he was a baby in the hands of his mother.” Anand was not an easy person compared to his Son. He was very moved by Buddha's thoughts and named his son Siddarth, Siddarth Akilan.
Siddarth spent 4 years inside the walls of the house. The last time he went out was to his grandma's house in Kanchipuram. He has not seen outside more. He sleeps in the car during the journey. He said to be the person who didn’t land the leg on the earth. Siddarth didn’t attend online classes. But he was with his father during reading sessions. His dad would sit on a couch, and he would sit beside him. Seeing him Anand makes him sit on his knees where he would stand before the book and read the sentence aloud. Sometimes Siddarth doesn’t understand those big stories of Family or a Husband who lost his wife. His father will make him imagine through the photographs of Google and make him enter the world of it. His mom is a teacher who makes him easy at school during these periods.
The time came for him, and he asked aloud to his father and mother that he needs to go out and see the world in the Bullet bike of his father. The mother of Siddharth is protected and used to say “the world out is full of evil, suffering which will make my Siddarth move apart from me.” His father used to laugh at the innocent reply of his son that would say “Mommy I’m not going to leave you”. But now his father made his ride and he wore the helmet and jumped to the seats and the Royal Enfield Classical 500 Cs sounded the start of the engine he was excited that he didn’t jump but just hold his hand tightly to the handlebar he might fly like the butterflies. Siddarth did not fly like butterflies but did not regret that the motorcycle flew across the roads like the eagle in the heavens. The flow of air made his hair fly and he smiled with all 32 teeth visible to all in the other lane. And suddenly he was able to see the clear view of the Whale Island in the middle of the Adyar river in the third. Vi. Ka Bridge. He saw the rear for the first time in real. He sees the play of Rama where he goes through the Ganga with the help of Guha and asks his father "where is Guha? In this River shore”. Anand smiles at them and ignores them. He rode the bike through places and Siddarth saw people in Slit house and huge buildings in the back of them and asked his father why are there living in these small houses when there are those big houses in the back. Siddarth can’t explain to him what are those symbolise but said “Those are slums. If they cannot get food, they used to live there.” Anand said these so he knew next what he will be asking. But it was the restless look that made Siddarth forget the response but remember that they are unable to get food.
Suddenly, a red signal. The bike stopped and he asked whether to get down the bike. The father said we should stop vehicles when it's read so the other side can go. Then an old man with torn clothes with spectacles of Iron frames came near the bike and folded his hands and asked to buy the Pen he had so he can have a meal tonight. Siddarth understands everything that Anand has overlooked. And it is signed change to Green and started to ride the bike through the crossing and Siddarth asked “why that old man asking money from us so he can have food. Why they don’t have a home like our grandma and grandpa in the fields. Anand just took some time to respond and said, our grandparents had a meal to share with me. Then I shared my time with Grandpa. But his son was not capable of doing, or he cannot share food with his son.” Siddarth saw this and again questioned “There would be no son who would do it. We can't share our food, ah dad?" Anand was expecting that question and said, "Do you remember that time your grandmother made me eat an extra dosa.
It belonged to him.” Anand smiled and Siddharth replied with a striking question “Then you made him here and not his son?” Anand laughed but in deep he regrets that he would never make a poor old man in real like this. He had no answer and suddenly he started to hear the sounds of drums and the fragrance of Rose in the air. A usual Monetary Car with the body hidden in flowers where the body is wrapped in white cloth and Anand use to think of the verses of Upanishads where they say the body is not anybody when it's dead. It belongs to the Rudra and should be set on fire. He was forced to stop at the side so the body can pass by. Siddarth didn’t see the Body till the flower stopped showering. He saw all crying beside the person who is dead. He thinks why all are crying? He actually started to shout at them so he can ask why they are crying, but some stranger came and smiled at him and said “The closest one there can’t stand now so he will be considered death.” And gone. Anand is relieved but now he needs to answer the questions about death for him.
The Car passed and he started the bike again and continued the journey. Siddarth was asked, “why did the person suddenly stop standing up?” Anand replied, “do you remember the Arjuna visit to Yama Loga part of Mahabharata?” A bold response yes came from Siddarth. Anand then continued “When that boy said to be not standing up is not considered he is death. He said to have stopped breathing or the Soul inside should have left the body and Yama should have arrived and taken there.” And now he can’t explain all to him, but he can now make him talk to a bottomless void of the topic where he can’t ask questions. But Siddarth asked his father why we can’t be the Krishna and Arjuna and travel to the Yama Loga” Anand laughed and said, “I said we are going to buy a magazine and books to mommy and not to threaten the lord of Death.” Siddarth laughed.
He saw the statue of Thomas Munro on his horse and was amused by the lights on the road and how active the streets are at night and was pondering why people are not sleeping when the moon is rising on the horizon.
The father stopped the bike opposite Thousand lights mosques and saw a Grandma Selling Magazine on the platform. Siddarth hopped off the bike and walk closer to the grandma. Grandma saw him and smiled with her broken teeth and kissed him on the cheeks and Siddharth smiled and taught his grandma was making pranks, but he noticed his father didn’t call her Amma(Mother in Tamizh) but the same Pati(Grandma in Tamizh) he would call. The father asked for some Tamizh magazine name for the recent edition and the old lady rose from the small chair and took the magazine and gave it to Siddharth. Siddarth asked her what is happiness to you?” Anand smiled and asked forgiveness for her, but she resisted his action of him and hold Siddharth's shoulder and said “If I’m able to read all books that our world would have I would have read with my dear Grandsons and daughter and would enjoy the rest of my life till I die.” Siddarth asked, “Then why are you afar from your Grandson and daughter?”
She replied “I have to make money. To make money I have to work. My son was a hard worker but didn’t make enough so I can stay in their home so I left them and came here. I was a beggar at the age of 55 and used to sit near the morning newspaper people and read the paper in hiding. One day the delivery person caught me and asked if you can sell this you are allowed to read free. I said OK and now I’m here.” Siddarth didn’t understand all, but Anand knows her story, so he asked Siddharth to say thank you. They got their farewell from her. Anand made his son see his father paid the money through his purse and was putting it into the pocket of the shirt. Now they are back to the way from where they came. They started all ways from what they came back Siddarth didn’t have a question. The poor boy saw old age, Poverty, and Death on the same day. He learned Happiness is different for all and he had no guts to ask his father what is happy, but he knows if I’m happy and I could earn those papers by selling books he would never make his Father and Mother not happy. Suddenly his father asked, “What my champ thinking about how your father is happier?” Siddarth nodded his head. Anand said “Money, Food, Cloth, Home, Age or Health all should be had in the need and not in excess. Like what our parents think we should want our children to have excess so they won’t say our Parents were cruel. But deep down they are making them spoilt to the Maya or the Magic where the things won't last and, we can’t take that in the Third place (Turiya) where all want to reside where happiness is fully filled.” Siddarth asked, “how to go their father?”
“My son even Krishna can’t get there, neither Rama the disciplined or nor the Beeshma. Neither the Yuddistra nor the Vyasa, neither of all nor even the god can’t go there.” Replied Anand.
Siddarth asked then if we can’t go there, then how do you people know that there is a place that exists.”
Anand replied “Because it’s the place where people are accepted if all are gods. This place is achieved when you have no regrets about the things you do. You should not have Ishq or Prem(Need of a thing in more) in the objects which we can’t take after our death. You should be happy and make our surroundings happy.”
The signal became red and Siddarth saw the same old man who was selling pens. He came near the bike and asked for money so he can have dinner for tonight. With his hands folded.
Siddarth didn’t hesitate a bit and took out the purse from the father's pocket and took a paper bill and gave it to him. Anand didn’t resist as he would do the same if Siddharth didn’t do it but would have given 50 instead of 100. Then it signalled green the way back home through the view of Thiru. Vi. Ka Bridge was coming home. On the escalator, both were near to breaking out that anyone will start the talk, but both burst out at the same time and said you have now achieved Third place. And laughed a lot and Siddarth hoped and reached the door and rang the bell and said his father. If we have more happiness, we will make sure all get enough to be happy.
“Siddarth enjoyed the ride?” asked the mommy and was talking about the magazine Grandma and Anand smiled and taught that if Buddha had a father, he would never go to Bodh Gaya to get enlightened.
