Speaking Mute - 017 - "Path Discovery"
When tough times hit, that's when character development kicks in. It's like being turned into dough for making chapatis, getting squished and tossed around until you're just right. And guess what, we're still dough even at 60! So, self-discovery keeps happening, like every 4-6 months. So, why not talk about it? That's what I call 'The Speaking Mute,' a funky mix of thoughts.
Do you know what's annoying about this phase of life? It's the big, fat uncertainty that's hanging around all the time. Remember Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle? Well, it's like we can't really figure out our destiny. The more we try to pin down where we're headed, the more the target shifts. It's like you're trying to see your position, but that position keeps changing super fast. It's kind of like doing some math with errors, and the outcome might be where you're going, but the real struggle is what you go through to get there.
"the position and momentum of microscopic moving particles cannot be determined simultaneously" - Heisenberg
Sometimes, the actual distance doesn't matter much and might change. Or you might be so far away that the journey looks never-ending. Either way, it can get so frustrating that you just want to give up, plop down, and do nothing. All this annoyance either makes you get used to it or forces you to ignore it.
In our world full of Instagram reels and YouTube shorts, where we're hooked on swiping, real life can't keep up. In reality, going from stuff you don't like to things you do is no walk in the park. It's not like you can't do it, it's just that external stuff messes with your plans.
But enough about my story all the time. Let me tell you about this dude I met in college and who's now a cool friend.
He was a studious type, acing an exam and moving on to the next one (which I skipped 'cause my marks sucked). But life took a U-turn, and he suddenly had to step up for his family. So, he left that exam hanging and became a family superhero. But now, all he hears is his family saying, "You couldn't pass that exam." Makes me feel lucky that my dad let me skip that one. Anyway, he kept on rocking and now he's totally nailing it in college (unlike me). He's on his way to greatness.
Makes me think, his path was kinda set, but then life threw a curveball. That's when he really found himself. It's like going beyond your usual circle and exploring new stuff. Sometimes, you feel like you're close to something big, even if you're still on the moon.
